Chesterfield, VA(June 2, 2011) --   FDJ Motorsports looked to rebound last Saturday night from an early wreck the previous week at South Boston Speedway. After having a very productive Friday test session and a new relationship with John West Racing Engines, the weekend looked promising.

Practice was hectic as all twenty-seven late models packed the track. After getting a few laps without hitting traffic, Sam reported a tight feel in the car that was instantly fixed with crew chief Mike Lee's adjustment. fluids.

The #42 Toyota Camry was the eighth car to qualify. After running a fast first lap, Sam looked as if he finally had a good qualifying effort on the way. However, on the final lap, the car got loose in turn two. Sam was able to save the car but his lap was ruined. He would start 24th.

When the green flag dropped, Sam fell in line behind the #11 car. After running nose to tail for about ten laps, the car started to fade. The car was handling well but was losing power. By lap 25 a small vibration started on points of deceleration. By lap 34 the vibration had became worse, and the car was losing power fast. On lap 38, Sam was forced to pit road where the team discovered a broken lifter in the engine, the damage was terminal. The night was over for the 42 team, continuing a streak of early exists for the second race in a row.

"It's really disappointing. I had high hopes for this race and I felt like the car was going to be really good as the night went on. It was just a rare incident with a West engine and I know David (West) is going to do everything he can to get us another engine for next week. I want to thank FDJ Motorsports, John West Engines, MF Global, Bruster's Ice Cream, The Lost Boys, Statoil, Paragon Assets, Thompson Davis, Sea Coast Gas Transmission, and everyone else who supports me and this team. It's been a really tough couple of weeks but, we're always looking to the future. There is plenty of racing remaining this season and each week I'm getting more comfortable in the car. The results will come."
