Hunt Racing started in 2003 as a small, no sponsor team that worked out of another team’s trailer. In 2004 Hunt Racing broke apart from 02 Racing and acquired small sponsorships from Brusters Ice Cream and Travisco Meats. As the 2005 season started, sponsors such as Gulfside Resorts, Texas Gas, Southwest Energy, Wendell DDS, and Grayson BMW joined us, and Hunt Racing began to look like a top team. In 2006, we were a given an exciting new opportunity when Larry Hollowell, setup and racing specialist, became crew chief for the '06 season. Also joining the team was Ron Roberts Painting, which is, to this day, the biggest sponsor of Hunt Racing. These additions led to a 9 win season, and by 2007 Hunt Racing was a top notch team. We finished in the top five for every regional race and won the National Championship, putting the team number one going into the much anticipated 2008 season.
